QePon messages can be stored and restored locally on your device. This feature is prepared to migrate QePon version 2.
Message restoration or account restoration are not currently supported, if you:
- Do not have your old account or lost your phone.
- Cleared your phone.
- Uninstalled QePon on your Smartphone.
- accidentally deleted a message or chat.
- Changed your QePon ID.
QePon does not have a copy of your messages. So QePon cannot be backed up when you lose your phone.
How do I enable a backup message locally?
- Go to Settings, choose Chats and media
- In the Backups section enable Chat backups, and write down or copy the 30-digit passphrase from left to right, top to bottom. You will need this passphrase in order to restore a backup. Please keep it in a safe place.
- Confirm that you have written down the passphrase.
- Tap Create backup. You can verify whether or not a backup has been completed successfully by checking the time of the last backup.
How do I restore from a backup file?
- Install QePon from playstore. In the registration step, when restoring the backup chat. Select restore from the backup
- Manually move QePon folder that contains the backup file.
- Enter your 30-digit passphrase to restore before restoring your account for registration.
What if I forget my 30-digit passphrase and need to restore messages?
You will be unable to restore a backup without the passphrase. Think of the 30-digit passphrase as a key that can not be duplicated. You can create a new backup to create a new passphrase.
Go to Settings > Chats and media > Chat backups
Turn off to disable chat backups and delete all previous backups on your phone. Tap Turn on to create a new backup with a new passphrase.
